Marie Channer

Marie Channer

Marie Channer grew up in a family of artists who enjoyed doing portraiture and landscapes. She loves photographing and says that out of about 1000 photos, she will find one that she wants to paint.  “An old proverb states that ‘God is in the details’.”  For artist Marie Channer, this truism is evident in her paintings of horses and portraits of women and children. Every hair counts - every small particle of dust stirred up by travelling hoofs is recorded in the finest detail.

Marie Channer resides near Nederland, Colorado.  Her love for horses and the West give her inspiration for her horse paintings and landscapes.  She also paints flamenco and ballet dancers for galleries in Santa Fe and New York.  When not in her studio, she enjoys touring galleries and museums enjoying other artists' works of art.
