Horses, wildlife and art have always been my passions. I started drawing recognizable subjects at a very young age. When I was ten, I started riding horses for my father, as well as showing horses for a local quarter horse breeder/trainer. Horses remain an integral part of my life and I take great pleasure in starting my own colts making them into all around ranch horses.
I had the first opportunity to paint with oils in high school and I was immediately hooked. Although I have painted with most mediums, I always came back to oils finding them the most challenging and the most rewarding.
We, along with five horses and two dogs, live on a beautiful ranch in northwest Montana. I have sketched and painted throughout my life but it wasn’t until 2009 that I felt prepared to start my professional fine art career. Since then it has been a fascinating journey and I look forward to improving and expanding my portfolio as I continue to paint heartbeats of the West.
I was awarded "Best New Artist” in 2009 at the Western Heritage Artists Show & Sale, Great Falls, Montana. Since then I have been honored to receive numerous awards. The most recent include: 2015 “First Place” Art for Horses Show & Sale, Lakewood, CO; 2015 “Publisher’s Award of Excellence” Art of the West magazine, APA Show & Sale, Lincoln, NE; 2015 “Best Plains Wildlife”, American Plains Artists Show & Sale, Lincoln, NE.
