The 2016 Windows to the West Art Show and Sale convenes more than 50 of the country's top contemporary Western heritage artists in one of the most beautiful mountain settings in America at the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park.  The three-day sale and exhibition in Estes Park, Colorado, June 3-5, showcases more than 200 new pieces of art, with rich opportunities to meet the artists and discuss their unique depictions of Western landscapes, wildlife and traditional Western American life.  Windows to the West is a charitable benefit event sponsored by the Estes Park Western Heritage Foundation.

Mark Thompson

Mark Thompson

A native of Colorado, Mark Thompson received his B.A. degree in Commercial Art from Colorado State University. After working briefly as a commercial illustrator in Chicago, he returned to Colorado and taught art for ten years.

Mark turned to his art full time in 1981, working in etching and the media of egg tempera, which he now teaches at the Art Student's League of Denver.

Mark has received numerous awards from exhibitions over the years.  In New York, these include The American Artist’s Professional League and The Allied Artists of America.  In Colorado, his work has been shown at the Colorado Governor’s Art Show.  In 2014, had a one-man retrospective at the Steamboat Art Museum.
